1st blog since starting.....

I have never really blogged before..so bare with me...
I think this is going to be harder then I thought.....I'm on the computer all the time at work, but of course this site is blocked!  So remembering to do this at home is a bit of a challenge.  But!  I am ongoing with my number 1 on the list.....Blog about 101 in 101  :)
#8 was a little too easy...and I think I should have upped it to 50 things that make me happy and not 25...but here's my list:
25 Things that Make me Happy
1) My daughter (Kasandra)
2) My family
3) Seeing good parents
4) Seeing happy children (as they all should be and deserve to be)
5) People making a difference in the world (I'm a firm believer of we can change this world one good deed at a time)
6) Animals adopted into good homes
7) Peace through out
8) Feeling/being active and healthy
9) Music!!! (I don't know what I would do with out it!)
10) Seeing flowers bloom and trees budding in the spring time
11) Babies!
12) People in love-especially older people...it's so great to see the love in their eyes after years of marriage.
13) Vacations!  (Seriously, who doesn't love this one?!)
14) The possibility of being home full time with my daughter
15) Whale watching and other sea mammals
16) Children's laughter-if this doesn't put an automatic smile on your face...something is wrong with you!
17) My Jimmy (hubby) happy and smiling
18) Reading/spending time with my daughter (anytime I'm with her, I think I'm the happiest)
19) Giving gifts
20) Leaving work!  (Another one of those-who wouldn't love this??)
21) Hugs and Kisses from Kasi
22) The sound of the Ocean
23) Date nights
24) Feeling relaxed and at peace
25)  Barack Obama becoming the 44th President!

OK-so one item is completely crossed off my list now!

# 9 is a lot harde then I had anticipated-25 things I like about myself...I'm up to 17......I'll keep you posted.

Working on #18-lose 45 lbs...hopefully at the end of this week..I'll have an update!

#19 exercise 5 days a week.....I'm up to 3 solid days...but I do count at least one full day on the weekend......so 4 days...HEY chasing a 2 1/2 year old around takes alot of energy!

#70 do a craft or cooking project with Kasi a week-
this past week we made brownie cupcakes!  YUMMY!!!!'

#74 read some books to my daughter I have read more then I can remember but I'll start with this week..I have read 3
1) the little lost duck
2) knuffle bunny ( a must for all parents!)
3) Harold and the purple crayon

#65 find a mommy and me class.....uuuggghhh this one os so frustrating to me...being a working mom..there is nothing on the weekends......but I will prevail!  There has to be something out there!  But seriously...there's nothing like this to make it feel like you have been slapped in the face....and making you feel like you are a horrible mother because you can't do things during the weekdays.....

#59 donate 1,000,000 grains of rice through free rice (I'm up to 300!)

so, there you have it......I got one thing finished and several started.....
and I will try to make my next post not to be so boring...this is a horrible entry!
Until next time!

Day Zero Project

What It Is:

The 101 Things To Do In 1001 Days Project, a creation of Day Zero, is a unique idea that challenges and inspires you to set and complete realistic goals in life.

The Mission:

Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:

Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 Days?

Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time then a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

Some common goal setting tips:

1. Be decisive. Know exactly what you want, why you want it, and how you plan to achieve it.

2. Stay focussed. Any goal requires sustained focus from beginning to end. Constantly evaluate your progress.

3. Welcome failure. Frequently, very little is learned from a venture that did not experience failure in some form. Failure presents the oppotunity to learn and makes the success more worthy.

4. Write down your goals. It clarifies your thinking and reinforces your commitment.

5. Keep your goals in sight. Review them frequently, and ensure that they are always at the forefront of your thinking.

My Plan:

I will start my 101 in 1001 challenge on March 1, 2009 and on the challenge on November 27, 2011. I will use the color code below to designate the staus of each item on my list. I will update and blog at least every two weeks.
